子供のねむりについて その２ [眠りについて]
引き続き、子供の眠りについての話です。
前回は主に睡眠時間について書かせて頂きました。
今回はもう少し踏み込んだ話を書きます。
教育と眠りの研究をしている先生から、最近の子供たちの気になる様子を聞きました。
・幼稚化（甘え、我慢ができない、体調の説明が出来ない）
・生気がない（疲れている、表情が乏しい、体力が低下している）
・依存的、ひ弱（指示待ち、自信がない、容姿に関心を持ちすぎ）
・社会性が乏しい
・精神不安定
・健康の不安
・親との関係精の不安
上記の問題と眠りにどれほどの関係性があるかは分かりません。
しかしまったく関係ないとも言えないと私は思います。
就寝時刻との関係性では、１０時半以降に寝る子供の半数以上は情緒不安定があるそうです。
尚、８：３０～９：００では寝つきがよく、９：００以降では寝つきが悪くなります。
遅い時間に寝た子供は、十分な睡眠時間が取れていないため、
朝の機嫌が悪く、日中まで精神の不安定を引きずることになります。
もちろん就寝時刻が遅く、睡眠時間が少ないと成績にも悪影響が出てきます。
理想としては、７時前に夕食をとり、８：３０には寝ることです。
そのためには「親が子供の生活に寄り添う」ことが一番大切なことです。
子供は、自身で生活スケジュールをコントロールできません。
おもちゃやテレビ、インターネットなど、欲求に任せていると睡眠時刻はどんどん遅くなっていきます。
まずはお母さん、お父さんが「子供にとっての眠りの必要性」を認識して
８：３０に就寝することを目標とした生活をお願いしたいと思います。
最近大学の先生と話をしていて、最近の学生は平均就寝時間が午前２時と聞きました。
２時に寝たのでは、翌朝まともに起きられるはずがなく、１時間目を遅刻や欠席、
出てきたとしても居眠り。そういった生徒がどんどん増えてきているそうです。
もちろん成績にも影響がでてくるでしょう。
同時にこんな話も聞きました。「ちゃんと１２時前に寝ている生徒も多く、彼らは優秀だ。」
つまり、大学に入ってから生活リズムが崩れる生徒と崩れない生徒がいるということです。
ここからは想像なのですが、大学の自由な環境に入ってもリズムが崩れない生徒は
高校時代までに自分の生活リズムを「自己管理」出来るようになっていたのではないかと
思います。
私も経験がありますが、一度狂ったリズムを戻すのは大変なことです。
できれば幼少期から義務教育の間で睡眠を含めた生活リズムを身につけることが重要だと
感じます。
最後にひとつ
子供にとっての睡眠は、大人にとっての睡眠よりはるかに重要です。
睡眠中には「成長ホルモン」が分泌され、子供は心身ともにすごい勢いで成長していきます。
「寝る子は育つ」は本当です。
願わくば、よく遊び、よく学び、よく食べて・・・そしてよく眠る！
そうやってすくすく育ってほしいものです！
